The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) has announced National Awards for excellence in Apparel. CMAI's Apex Awards 2007 were given to distinguished people/ company from their respective fields in various categories on 22nd November 2007 at Hotel Renaissance, Powai, Mumbai in the glittering presence of distinguished personalities from diverse fields.
Mr. Vijaypat Singhania of Raymonds Group was given Life time Achievement Award. CMAI's special award of 'Clothing Company of the Year' was won by Gokuldas Exports of Bangalore, whose turn over was more than Rs. 1,000 crores for the year 2006-07.
The company also won 'Exporter of the Year' Award in woven apparel category as well as 'Clothing Company of the year for Export' Award.
The most Admired Company of the Year Award was won by Madura Garments. Clothing Company of the Year in domestic category Award also won by Madura Garments.
Best Retailers Award was given to Shoppers Stop. Chain store of the Year Award was given to Kuotons India Retail Ltd. Koutons also won 'Brand Entrepreneur of the year' Award.
'The Retail Professional of the Year' Award went to Mr.B.S. Nagesh.The 'Retail Entrepreneur of the year' Award was given to Vishal Mega Mart.
Most innovative dressing in film personality Award went to Mr. Mithun Chakravarty. Best dressed Award in film category- male, went to Mr. Ashish Chaudhary & female-went to Ms. Hrishita Bhatt.
Best dressed actorAward in TV category-male, was given to Mr. Rohit Roy and female to Ms. Anita Hattangdy.
