Mr Tariq Ikram, Chief Executive, Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), in a recent visit to New Delhi, supported the proposal of setting up a joint study group to explore the potential of a unified export strategy between India and Pakistan.
Under this proposition, it was decided that, both the nations will select four members each to be part of this joint study group, to give advices for enhancing exports of India and Pakistan in the international arena.
This study group will also lay special emphasis on the cooperation in the textile sector under the umbrella of TDAP, in association with Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI).
In order to take this step ahead, TDAP is in talks with stakeholders in the trade sector for establishment of export-oriented units (EOUs). Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has also outlined a set of rules for interested parties, covering both, EOUs and small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
