Opts commence at Kuraray Saijo VECTRAN superfiber facility

With the 400-ton increase in its annual production capacity, Kuraray will accelerate global expansion of the VECTRAN business. The Company is aiming for further growth in the civil engineering, construction material and fiber optic cabling industries as well as in new areas of application.
Outline of Investment in Facility Expansion:
1. Location: Kuraray Saijo Co Ltd - 892 Tsuitachi, Saijo City, Ehime Prefecture
(President: Katsuya Hashimoto; Capital: ¥10 million; a wholly owned Kuraray subsidiary)
2. Production capacity: 400 tons per year for expanded section (total production capacity: 1,000 tons per year)
3. Capital investment: ¥700 million
