Malwee neutrals emission of greenhouse gases

Concern for the environment and future generations is nothing new at Malwee Malhas, a company that maintains ecological preservation areas since its foundation and that in 2000 changed BPF oil for natural gas.

Now, as the pioneer in the textile segment, and once again in a spontaneous manner, Malwee neutrals its emission of greenhouse gases and becomes Zero Carbon.

The company hired an outside consulting firm to conduct an inventory of it greenhouse gas emissions.

Direct emissions by the factory and indirect emissions, which into account the consumption of electric power to freight transportation, employee travel – whether by car or plane – and even its sales representatives' cars spread about the entire country were calculated from January to June 2007.

The result of this inventory was compared to the company's forest inventory and it indicated that the number of existing trees planted and preserved by Malwee Malhas gives the company a surplus in carbon neutralization.

The study was based on IPCC – Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change evaluation parameters.

But to be Zero Carbon, the company does not bet only on its current forest inventory and the planting of new trees.

Malwee Malhas continuously invests in a large set of effective actions, always seeking cleaner technologies and processes that reduce environmental impact.

This set of actions has been implemented over the years, and will continue to be implemented, in order to renew the neutralization of greenhouse gases every year.
