Bellavista Oveja Tomé SA, a Chilean company, located in Tome, mainly manufacturing and trading fabrics made of high quality wool and fine blends, has recently decided to pull down shutters of its Region VIII textile factory.

Mr Miguel Otero, President, Bellavista made an announcement on this Monday, that the company has lost its one of the most important client, Brooks Brothers, dealing in ready-to-wear fashion.

The President also divulged that this factory has been struggling with US $26 million in debt after it lost its biggest customer.

In order to reduce the harassment of the workers the Government has announced to pay company's plant employees.

Around 800 workers are employed in the Region VIII textile facility. After the company took this decision, factory workers asked the Government intervene in the situation and about 150 workers protested in front of the plant.
