Ms. Bu Jian Guo, Charge d' Affaires, of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in New Delhi, extended China's commitment to placing the trilateral economic and business cooperation on a sustainable, high growth trajectory.
She said, the Chinese, Indian and Russian economies were growing at a fast clip, faster than growth rates seen in other parts of the world, and called for sustained efforts to substantially raise the trilateral trade volume from the current level of US$ 39 billion.
Mr. G. G. Petrov, Vice President, Chambers of Commerce & Industry of The Russian Federation (RFCCI), underlined the need create a platform for the exchange of information amongst the businesses for any meaningful trilateral cooperation.
“Our approach to developing our economies is different from the Western approach,” he said, adding that the trilateral engagement if not directed against any country but endeavoured to ensure that the efforts to make the world unipolar do not succeed, he said.
Mr. Yu Ping, Vice Chairman, China Council for The Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), called for strengthening communication links by way of market and commodity information; building on the economic complementarities in areas such as finance, transport, tourism and consultancy, and two-way investment and joint venture cooperation.
Mr. K. K. Modi, Past-President, FICCI & Chairman, Modi Enterprises, outlined the areas for partnership among the three countries in energy, aviation, biotechnology and Information Technology as also in pharmaceuticals, infrastructure, financial services and health and education.
Mr. Deep Kapuria, Chairman (Northern Region), CII & Chairman, Hi-Tech Gears Ltd. pointed out that India, China and Russia constituted 40% of the world's population and therefore was one of the largest markets in the world.
There was need to leverage the respective strengths of the three countries to meet the new challenges and promote cooperation for regional and global prosperity and sustainable development, he said.
