Malwee Malhas Ltda, one of Brazil's best-known producers of own-brand clothing has added new Thies dyeing technology to the existing line of Thies equipment at its factory in Jaraguá do Sul to be able to respond fast to changes in fashion and experiment with new fabrics and colours.
Renowned for big selling brands such as Malwee, Malwee Action, the M Collection and Sport Shock fitness wear, and specialising in casual and beachwear for children and young adults, Malwee Malhas has four fabric mills in southern Brazil and employs a total of more than 6,000 people.
The company has recently added four new Thies dyeing machines to its Jaraguá do Sul mill including a soft-TRD DS XL and a Luft-roto plus SII - both used for fabric dyeing. A mini-soft TRD is being used for sample dyeing and small production runs. Completing the new line-up a five-kier eco-bloc quattro yarn dye house unit handles high levels of batch-to-batch dyeing. It can work either as individual units or connected in any required combination.
This equipment has joined the Thies pressure drying equipment that had been installed earlier during a time of fast expansion for the company.
Thies's distributor in Brazil, Petersen Matex Imp. e Exp. Ltda, supplied the equipment and handles all service and maintenance.
