Sector comparison: Manufacturing output per hour increased by 1.6 per cent in the third quarter of 2007 compared with the same quarter a year ago, down from a growth of 2.9 per cent in the previous quarter.
Services output per hour (experimental) increased by 2.2 per cent in the third quarter of 2007 compared with the same quarter a year ago, down from a growth of 2.8 per cent in the previous quarter. Market sector output per hour (experimental) increased by 2.6 per cent in the third quarter of 2007 compared with the same quarter a year ago, up from a growth of 2.2 per cent in the previous quarter.
Manufacturing productivity: In the third quarter of 2007, manufacturing productivity, on an output per job basis, increased by 2.8 per cent compared with the same quarter a year ago, down from a growth of 3.3 per cent in the previous quarter.
The fall in the growth rate of manufacturing productivity, on a quarter on the same quarter a year ago basis, was due to a fall in the growth rate of manufacturing output from 0.9 per cent to 0.4 per cent.
In the third quarter of 2007, manufacturing output per hour grew by 1.6 per cent compared with the same quarter a year ago. This compares with a growth of 2.9 per cent in the previous quarter.
Services Productivity - Experimental: Output per job for the service industries increased by 2.9 per cent in the third quarter of 2007 compared with the same quarter a year ago, up from a growth of 2.8 per cent in the previous quarter.
