The US Committee for the Implementation of Textile Agreements (CITA) has increased the quotas on few products in 2007. The reason behind such boost is that Chinese exporters borrowed one percent of the quota from next year.

Quotas on cotton knitted pullovers and man-made fiber sweater (345/645/646 category) were augmented from around 9,385,644 dozens to 9,477,660; cotton and man-made fiber underwear (352/652 category) from 21,743,905 dozens to 21,957,081 dozens.

The 345/645/646 category has the highest quota usage with 88.7 percent, the second highest is the 332/432/632B category with 88.6 percent and 332/432/632T category for 88.0 percent.

In addition, it is expected that CITA will issue the 2008 export quota of China textile and apparel to the US with an increase over last year.
