Prices of housing textile remain unchanged

In January 2008, compared to December 2007, consumer prices increased in total by 1.3%. Prices rose mostly in the branches: Prices of clothing and footwear decreased by 1.2%, education and miscellaneous goods and services equally by 0.2%. Prices of furnishings remained at the level of December.

Prices decrease in clothing and footwear was caused by prices cut in footwear by 1.4% and clothing by 1.1%.

In the branch of furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance, prices of housing textile did not changed. Prices of furnishings, carpets and other floor coverings increased by 0.2%, glassware, tableware furniture and household utensils and tools and equipment for house and garden equally by 0.1%.

Prices of goods and services for routine maintenance of household decreased by 0.2% and household appliances by 0.1%.

In January 2008, compared to January 2007, consumer prices were up by 3.8% in total. Prices rose faster than totally in the branches: Prices of furnishings, household equipments and routine household maintenance decreased by 0.6%, clothing and footwear by 0.1%.
