The registered unemployment rate in December 2007 remained the same as in November and was 7.3%; for men it was 6.1% and for women 8.9%. The average registered unemployment rate in 2007 was 7.7% (6.2% for men and 9.6% for women).
The comparison of registered unemployed persons by age shows that most registered unemployed persons were over 40 years old (53.1%), followed by unemployed persons in the age group 26-40 years (30.5%), while the fewest unemployed persons were under 26 years old (16.4%). More than half (50.8%) of registered unemployed persons were long-term unemployed persons (12 months and more).
