Holger Hüppeler (40) is the new head of the Group Function Procurement at specialty chemicals group LANXESS AG.
Hüppeler, who was previously in charge of Marketing in the Basic Chemicals business unit, assumed his new responsibility on March 3, 2008.
His predecessor, Michael Kiefer, is leaving LANXESS at his own request to explore new career avenues. He had been head of Procurement since February 2006.
Holger Hüppeler began his career in Leverkusen in 1989, assuming various positions in the Ion Exchange Resins Business Group after completing his training in business administration. From 1995 he worked for two years as a Technical Sales Representative in the United Kingdom.
On his return to Germany he became product manager in the Active Ingredient Intermediates business unit and then headed several market segments. From 2002 until now he has been head of Strategic Marketing in the Business Unit Basic Chemicals.
