Recently, Associated Chambers of Commerce & Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) organized a reception in honor of newly appointed Ambassador to European Union, Dipak Chatterjee.
The reception was attended by Ambassadors, Commercial Counselors of European Union and ASSOCHAM members.
Speaking on the occasion, Dipak Chatterjee said that European Union carries special significance in today's economic integration and will turn out to be an important trade partener for India in areas like readymade garments, gems and jewellery, primary and semi-finished iron and steel.
He assured all cooperation of his organization during his tenure as EU's Ambassador to the ASSOCHAM members.
ASSOCHAM President Mahendra K. Sanghi felt that with his rich experience in key economic ministries of the Government of India, Chatterjee would be able to handle his diplomatic assignment very effectively and with greater creditability.
He hoped that with Charrerjee's new assignment, ASSOCHAM will be able to strengthen its ties with EU and bring in India's and EU's economic cooperation much closer.
