In the course of specialising in the core business along the textile value added chain, Oerlikon Textile, segment of the Swiss high-tech industry group Oerlikon, sells ERMAFA Kunststofftechnik Chemnitz GmbH with effect from 10 March 2008 to Donton Technologies GmbH, Dortmund.

With ERMAFA, Oerlikon Barmag, business unit of Oerlikon Textile and world market leader in the sector of spinning lines for man-made fibres and texturing machines, with head office in Remscheid, has, inter alia, been well positioned in the component business for the plastic and rubber processing industry since 2005. Since more than 30 years, the Chemnitz company has been supplying extruders for a great number of process tasks and has been manufacturing entire blending lines and installation for rubber processing.

“In order to enhance our competitiveness, we are increasingly specialising in our core business along the textile value added chain. This core business comprises high-class total solutions in textile machinery engineering and in the production and the processing of natural and man-made fibres, yarns and non-woven fabrics“, explains Dr. Carsten Voigtländer, CEO of Oerlikon Textile, the selling decision. Oerlikon Textile was the sole holder of ERMAFA Kunststofftechnik Chemnitz GmbH.

Donton Technologies GmbH, belonging to Donton Industrial Holding GmbH in Dortmund, is a financially strong purchaser. The company acquires industrial plants for mechanics, electronics, electrotechnology and materials technology in Germany with the objective to bring these companies to an enduring positive profit situation in the long run.
