International Symposium/Workshop on Natural Dyes by UNESCO in India

The Symposium will be held in Hyderabad 6-12 November 2006.
The Symposium will have the support of the Office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts) Government of India.
The program will comprise a seminar covering technical ecological and sociological aspects.
Demonstration workshops covering traditional indigo vats, tannin, black, reds and other mordant dyes around the world. Textile decoration techniques will also be covered.
Crafts Council of India is happy to work in close collaboration with Dastkar Andhra an NGO with years of hands on experience in disseminating technology to weavers.
The closing ceremony will features a spectacular fashion show with clothes and accessories by designers from all over the world.
The conference venue will be the state of the art Shilpakala Vedica,a modern well equipped auditorium and ideal location situated as it is next to Shilparama the craft village, the National Institute of Fashion Technology and Hi Tech City.
