In contrast to the preceding reporting period, this week´s enquiries gave also opportunity for the conclusion of contracts. There was obviously still demand consisting for near dates.

The willingness to sell was not really high in the countries of origin, respectively the sought qualities were no longer available.

As the delivery / shipping terms for upland cottons were limited on the third quarter, sold quantities had to be served from merchants´ positions. Despite clearly rising prices, turnovers were also effected in the ELS/LS range, here also for later dates, on account of expected lower crops.

In the Upland range turnovers were registered in Central Asian sorts for prompt and further in the 3rd quarter 2008; West African types and Greek descriptions also for the 3rd quarter 2008.

From among the ELS/LS varieties were traded: Egyptian GIZA 86, Sudan Barakat, USA Pima and Israel Pima for prompt, and Israel Acalpi for dates in the 1st to 3rd quarter 2009.
