RIL bags two National Energy Conservation Awards

Fiber intermediates manufacturer Reliance Industries Limited's (RIL) plants at Jamnagar and Hazira have won the "National Award for Excellence in Energy Management - 2005" for the year 2004-05 during the Energy Summit organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

The Jamnagar Unit has won the award under the 'Refinery Sector' while the Hazira Unit has won the award in the 'Petrochemicals Sector'. The Hazira Unit has won this award 5 times in the last 6 years. The awards were presented at the CII - Godrej Green Business Centre's sixth edition of the National Awards for Excellence in Energy Management.

Thirty-five (35) companies were short-listed based upon their energy conservation performance during the last three years from a total of 126 applications. These thirty-five short-listed companies made their presentation at the energy summit. 19 Companies were classified as Excellent Energy Efficient Units (EEEUs) while the balance 16 companies were stated at Energy Efficient Units (EEUs).

In addition to Excellence in Energy Management Award, the presentations were judged on their innovativeness by a penal of distinguished judges in the field of energy management through presentation, followed by an exhaustive question answer (Q&A) session. The presentations were also judged in terms of their usefulness by all the participants and delegates from all over the country. Reliance, Hazira has won the "Most Useful Presentation Award" & "Most Innovative Project Award" as well during this Energy Summit.
