Most of the local spinning mills are at present on works holidays. Correspondingly, the merchants received only sporadic enquiries.
As there were still some gaps in supply for the third quarter 2008, smaller quantities could be committed for the near date, despite different price ideas. The range of available cotton is indeed clearly reduced.
In the Upland range were traded: Central Asian sorts for dates in the 3rd and 4th quarter 2008, as well as Greek descriptions from the new crop for loading in the 4th quarter 2008 and in the 1st quarter 2009.
