Nippon Oil has decided to go in for a maintenance shutdown of its ethylene cracker for a period of 40 days.
The cracker, which is located at Kawasaki in Japan has an annual production capacity of 450,000 metric tons of ethylene.
The turnaround is scheduled to commence from August 21 and will carry on until September 28.
Industrial sources also informed Fibre2fahion that the current export price of ethylene is US $1500 per ton FOB Japan.
