Textile museum in Endon's memory get RM12 million Govt grant

The Prime Minister's wife Datin Paduka Seri Endon Mahmood's services for the textile and batik industry in particular will not go in vain.
Honoring her commitment and contributions for popularising the traditional textile industry the Government of Malaysia has sanctioned RM12 million for a textile museum named after her to be opened next year.
Eulogising her services , Culture, Arts and Heritage Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim said, "We are grateful to Endon for her support, even when she was unwell. She helped us put batik and songket back into the mainstream with her pet projects.”
He added that commended Endon's work due to which traditional arts will not be forgotten.
