Retained demand by spinning mills and low turnovers let the week under report pass quite uneventful.
The downtrend of cotton futures in New York decelerated and the cotton indices of the Bremen Cotton Exchange and of Cotlook Ltd, Liverpool, ranged just negligible below the state of the week before. The turnovers in effective cotton on the local market were furthermore limited to Upland varieties only.
New sales were registered as follows: Central Asian sorts for dates in the 1st and 2nd quarter 2009; Greek descriptions for prompt loading and in the 2nd quarter 2009, and West African types for shipment in the 3rd quarter 2009.
