PTA plant of Indorama Polymers back in action

The Purified Terephthalic Acid (PTA) plant operated by Indorama Polymers in Thailand was recently taken off-stream due to a mechanical problem at the plant. The 640,000 capacity plant which produces PTA is located in Map Ta Phut.

Fibre2fashion spoke to a company official of Indorama Polymers in Thailand who confirmed the news of the shutdown, but added by saying that the problem has been now sorted out and the PTA plant has resumed normal production.

According to the official, the PTA plant had to be closed for two days due to a small mechanical problem. The company had recently informed fibre2fashion that the company intends to run the PTA plant at full capacity once the supply of its feedstock, Paraxylene is normalized.
