A continuous downtrend of the cotton quotations in New York, even intensified towards the end of the reporting period, reduced the enquiries from spinners´ side to a minimum.
Offering prices from the origins did not follow the trend of the futures to the same extent, even though several quantities are still unsold.
The sale of stocks below production costs is at present not taken into consideration. The reported turnovers covered just limited quantities.
In the Upland range were traded: Central Asian sorts for prompt and for the 3rd quarter; Greek descriptions for loading within the same period of time, and West African types for the 3rd quarter 2009.
In the LS/ELS range the following turnovers were registered: Egyptian GIZA 86, US Pima, and Israel Pima, all for prompt.
