According to market sources, one of the productions lines, out of the two production lines of the PTA plant of Mitsubishi Chemicals at Merak in Indonesia was taken off-stream for a period of two days due to a technical problem.
Fibre2fashion spoke to Mr Takuya Yorozu working in the Public Relations Department at Mitsubishi Chemicals in Japan, who confirmed the news by saying, “PTA plant comprises of two lines with a total combined production capacity of 640,000 tons per year”
He added by saying, “Line-1 was taken off-stream on account of some technical problem on April 21 for a period of two days. The plant was however restarted on April 23 after a brief outage and now it is operating at normal production rates".
