First ever handloom buyer-seller meet kicks off in Bihar

The major component of the IHDS scheme includes formation of Self Help Groups (SHGs), setting up of Yarn Depots, trainings for Design Development, Product Diversification & skill upgradation as well as support for publicity and marketing through fairs, exhibitions and buyer-seller meets.

The implementation of IHDs scheme over a period of three years in the state of Bihar aims, at covering 4000 weavers and their dependents . Through various initiatives it is expected that the gross trade turnover of individual weavers shall increase from current estimated value of Rs. 30 crores, to Rs. 75 crores in a time frame of 3 years. The current buyer seller meet is a stepping stone in this direction.
