Demand and purchasing attitude by the spinning mills were clearly better than in the preceding week. LS/ELS and Upland qualities from West Africa and from Greece remained in focus. However, only limited volumes were available or the requested prices could not be calculated with corresponding yarn prices. The mid-week downturn of the New York cotton quotations had no effect on the prices at the origins. The ICE quotations quoted again higher compared with one week before.
In the Upland rage were traded: Central Asian sorts and West African styles for prompt and further through the 2nd quarter 2010; Greek descriptions for prompt.
In the LS/ELS range were traded: Egyptian GIZA 86 and Israel Pima for prompt and for the 1st quarter 2010.
