Near delivery terms in strong demand - Bremen Cotton

The cotton prices increased again compared with the week before. Demand by domestic spinning mills concentrated on short term available Upland cottons for delivery until the end of the 2nd quarter 2010, while prices further increased. The resources of the most traded origins from the last crop are already clearly reduced. In New York, the cotton quotations for the front trading months had again increased by approximately 2 US-cents in the week under report. Also the prices for fine- /extra fine cottons ranged considerably higher than at the beginning of the year.

In the Upland range turnovers were registered in Central Asian sorts, Greek and West African descriptions for prompt, respectively dates in the 2nd quarter 2010.

In the fine- / extra-fine range contracts were concluded in Egyptian GIZA 86, USA Pima, Israel Pima and ACALPI, as well as Sudan Barakat for the 2nd and in parts for the 3rd quarter 2010.
