Nation's commercial cotton seed supplier Cotton Seed Distributors Ltd (CSD) has donated $5000 to the Australian Cotton Centre at Narrabri, to continue its role on behalf of the industry in educating and informing the general public on the significant social and economic contribution of the cotton industry.

CSD general manager, Adam Kay stated that the Centre was a national showcase for the leading edge technology utilized in the field to fabric processes that regularly provide more than $1 billion annually to regional economies and to Australia's export income.

The Centre provides integrated, interactive and educative displays and exhibitions, and a special theatre outlining all aspects of the cotton industry from breeding and genetics through to insects, pests, diseases, production, management, harvesting, ginning, and finished textile products.

It also houses machinery and equipment, gifts and souvenirs, and provides literature and lectures for both the general public and school students at all education levels.

Adam Kay informed that the latest donation was designed to assist the Centre in updating, upgrading and expanding its visual displays and information resources in response to burgeoning demand from tourists and schools for services the Centre provides.

Australian cotton seed provider Cotton Seed Distributors Ltd (CSD) also provides the details of varieties, agronomy, trials and disease treatment. The aim of Cotton Seed Distributors Ltd. is to provide to every cotton grower the highest net return potential from the cotton varieties CSD produces.
