Moreover, Infrastructure projects, industrialisation and construction work in towns and cities (e.g. railway, roads etc.) together with new sets of statutory regulations in the areas of consumer and environmental protection, are all leading to an increase in demand for advanced textiles.
EU and German companies in particular are leading market players in the field of technical textiles.
CII has entered into a unique cooperation agreement with 4 European Federation of the Textile and Apparel Industry to promote Indian European cooperation in textiles and apparels.
The European cooperation partners are:
* Confederation of the German Textile and Fashion Industry
* British Apparel & Textile Confederation
* Union des Industries Textiles, France
* Hungarian Apparel Manufacturers Association
Against this backdrop, CII is organising SMATCHINDIATEX from 27 February to 1 March 2006 in Mumbai, and from 2 - 3 March 2006 in New Delhi.
50 companies from Germany, France, Hungary and the UK will be participating in SMATCHINDIATEX and will be interacting with leading textile exporters in India, which include garments, fabrics, made-ups, spinning mills and others.
These fifty organisations will be interacting with 150 counterpart organisations in India.
The project sets out to help European and Indian enterprises to internationalise their business strategies and to facilitate business co-operation between companies in the European Union and in India to increase mutual opportunities for trade and investment.
Participating companies will not only be provided with an outstanding match-making service that will culminate in a high number of tailor-made meetings for each company participating in the project, but will also receive exclusive market-access support.
