Statistics of Latvia presented domestic trade report in September 2005.
Retail trade turnover (at constant prices) in August 2005 showed a slight decline of 3.5 percent compared to August but compared to September 2004 it rose by 21.4 percent according to the Central Statistical Bureau.
Compared to January-September 2004, retail trade turnover in January-September 2005 increased by 21.1 percent
Retailing of textile fabrics, clothing, footwear and leather ware 128.8 percent in specialised stores from January-September 2005.
In September 2005, the turnover of retailers the main activity of which is the sale of motor vehicles, motorcycles and parts thereof increased slightly, up 1.5 percent (at constant prices) compared to August but compared to September last year it has increased by 48.6 percent, of which the increase in the sale of cars was 51.3 percent.
In January-September 2005, the turnover of motor vehicles, motorcycles and parts thereof increased by 36.7 percent compared to January-September 2004.
The turnover of automotive fuel retailers in September this year, however, slightly fell, down 0.4 percent (at constant prices) compared with September 2004.
In January-September 2005 the turnover of automotive fuel retailers increased by 33.3 percent in comparison with the respective period in 2004.
