LyondellBasell operates a polypropylene (PP) plant in Italy which has a capacity of 400,000 tons per annum, located at Brindisi.
While speaking to informed sources in the company, fibre2fashion has learnt that a force majeure has been declared at the plant.
The apparent reason for the closure is due to erosion in PP prices in the European region. LyondellBasell has not fixed any date to restart the plant.
