According to reports appearing in China, refiner, PetroChina has received the government nod to double the capacity of its 5 million tons per annum oil refinery located in Huabei.
The company also plans to add ethylene production capacity amounting to one million tons per year, to its existing output, which is scheduled for completion in October 2012.
The expansion at the Huabei oil refinery will mean a total production capacity of 10 million tons per year and will be the 14th plant in China, to have a production capacity of 10 million tons and above per annum.
