Celebrated Indian brand for bed sheets and towels, Bombay Dyeing embarked on its first ever display center outside India in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Barktullah Bulu, Advisor to the Ministry of Commerce, opened the display centre of Bombay Dyeing at Gulshan Circle-2.
Recently, Bombay Dyeing & Manufacturing Company Ltd. entered into a deal with the A F Holdings Ltd, which would represent and sell company's products in Bangladesh.
Bombay Dyeing manufactures products, which suit both middle and upper class consumers and hence company decided to start its first retail outlet in Bangladesh to cash on huge market opportunity, stated RV Sinha, Bombay Dyeing General Manager (Sales).
Speaking about company products being marked up higher on price front, Sinha said that import duties were very high, which could be inspected by the Bangladesh government.
Sinha also added that the company has set annual sales target of rupees one crore to be shared by its Bangladeshi partner.
A F Holding Ltd owned by Parveen Chowdhury, plans to open several more outlets of Bombay Dyeing in Dhaka and Chittagong.
