Tantavi is an adaptation of these classic weaves patterened since ancient times. Tantavi has by and large benefited the traditional weavers by offering them a challenging platform to keep the innovations alive.

Tantavi-2005 displays new handloom coloured yardages produced from natural fibres of cotton, wool, silk, jute and in eco-friendly dyes and patterns based upon a combination of different counts, twists, reeds, picks and weaves. Along with these yardages, made-ups and apparel designed out of these yardages exhibit versatility of these fabrics such as their ability to blend, eco-friendly nature and modern convenience factors.

The fabric lengths have been converted into a variety of products like table cloths, cushion covers, bedspreads etc. designed by the prestigious institution, National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) exclusively for the event. During this exhibition the fabric samples and catalogues will also be available for sale for designers, exporters and manufacturers etc. for procuring bulk order.

The Exhibition is an initiative of the Textile Ministry to highlight specifically the different techniques of decoration in hand woven textiles. Buyers across the world have shown keen interest in Tantavi apparels and made-ups.

And once again, the Indian Textile Industry is poised to become a frontrunner of the world apparel market. A must visit exhibition for those in the industry, exporters, designers, institutions and textile enthusiasts alike.
