Sumitomo Chemical Co said that it plans to begin maintenance work on its only naphtha cracker and it will undergo force majeure for 47 days.
The company announced that it has set the schedule for the maintenance work at the Chiba plant from September 1 to October 17.
The Chiba cracker has an ethylene production capacity of 380,000 tons.
