A trader from Ludhiana told Fibre*Fashion, “Spinning mills are avoiding price cuts despite a softening in cotton, but stockists and traders have reduced prices to attract buyers. Cotton yarn demand is seasonally sluggish. Demand may improve after Diwali when summer garment manufacturing picks up.”

In Ludhiana, ** count cotton combed yarn was sold at &#****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.** per kg (inclusive of GST); ** and ** count combed yarn were traded at &#****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg and &#****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg, respectively; and carded yarn of ** count was noted at &#****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg today, according to trade sources.
