North Indian cotton yarn stable; Chinese imports hurt sentiments

The Ludhiana market reported stagnant prices, despite low demand. Mills struggled to increase yarn prices even as cotton costs surged. Speaking to Fibre2Fashion, a trader from the Ludhiana market noted, "Chinese fabric imports are dampening market sentiment. Lower-cost fabric from China is becoming increasingly popular among garment manufacturers, accounting for ** per cent of fabric usage in domestic units. Previously, Indian fabric had dominated these domestic garment units."
