Following a Human Rights Watch report that alleged violation of labour laws in Pakistan’s textile sector, the Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers Association (PHMA) recently urged the government to direct its embassies and missions abroad to counter the ‘propaganda’ against the country’s textile industry, which constitutes more than 60 per cent of total exports.
