PM asks textile industry to send note on key issues

"This is a first time that the Prime Minister interacted with only textile industry representatives to know the ground realities of the industry, which is really a rare occasion," said TEA president Raja M Shanmugham.

Growth, importance and potential of Tiruppur cluster were highlighted during the meeting, Shanmugham said. "We requested the Prime Minister to address the issues like risky exporter, impact of BASEL norms, and refund of pending claims under RoSL and MEIS schemes."
