Propylene prices show mixed trends in Asia last week

Propylene prices soared in parts of Asia in the last week ended Oct 16 from lift in buying interest in the region. However, prices declined in other parts due to poor downstream product demand.

In Korea, average prices expanded by US$ 35/ton or 7.00 per cent and were assessed at US$ 535/ton in the last week, as compared to its previous week.

In Japan, average prices ascended by US$ 5/ton and were quoted at US$ 500/ton in the last week, up 1.01 per cent as against its prior week.

In China, average prices climbed by US$ 30/ton and were spotted at US$ 580/ton in the last week, an increase of 5.45 per cent vis-à-vis its earlier week.

In SE Asia, average prices dropped by US$ 10/ton or 1.98 per cent and were offered at US$ 495/ton in the last week, as compared to its previous week.

In India, average prices declined by US$ 10/ton and were witnessed at US$ 495/ton in the last week, down 1.98 per cent as against its earlier week.
