Farooq has been with the association in various capacities and is a member of the board for many educational, charitable and health institutions.
Farooq said after the election that the textile sector can help put an end to the company’s economic troubles. For this purpose, PTEA will require the cooperation of the sector and value-added associations. He also urged the government to draw viable policies for the textile industry to make it capable of wiping out the trade deficit, said media reports.
Additionally, 12 executive committee members were elected unopposed for a two-year term. (KD)
