Contemporary designer womenswear trade show, Scoop, has revealed a line-up of ‘new faces’ set to showcase their SS20 collections at Saatchi Gallery in London from July 21-23. Designers including Cecilie Copenhagen, Suncoo, A Kjærbede, Mhudi, Mabe, Kleed Kimonos and Maison Johanna Braitbart will show their creativity, global inspiration and contemporary design.

Stocked in Galeries Lafayette, BHV Swamp, Haussmann Spring, and Citadium Caumartin, Suncoo is profoundly Parisian and contemporary, created in 2010 from the meeting of two aesthetes, Stella and Thomas, breathing a powerful sense of freedom into the women’s wardrobe. “The SS20 collection tells new stories. Each theme is related to a voyage of discovery. From the urban jungle to the romantic escape, the new wardrobe is an invitation to travel, to escape, to dream,” said Stella Tang, founder and artistic director of Suncoo in a press release by Scoop.

Launching at Scoop this season are the beautifully crafted clothes of Mabe, every piece a joyful and timeless wardrobe keepsake and a celebration of traditional handicrafts. Each style comes with intricate embroidery and print, as well as artisanal embroidery techniques such as aari, chikankari, kantha, shisha and banjara.

Since its launch in 2016, Carolina Guedes Cruz’s fashion brand Kleed has been synonymous with chic African wildlife patterned kimonos and loungewear. The African ethos is ever-present in each of Carolina’s collection: beautiful design-led wildlife prints, an African animal embroidered on every article, or a clothing label attached with a string of colourful Maasai beads.

Founded in 2012 Cecilie Copenhagen has now become a rather cult label adopting different cultures and styles. Stocked in browns and farfetch, its free-spirited charm meets Scandinavian design-led simplicity with pared-back silhouettes crafted from soft natural fabrics, invigorated with contrasting shades and eye-catching motifs.

Syra J designs capture the daring, bold, elegant, beautiful female spirit in timeless style in her clothes. The image, quality, fit, and workmanship bridges every woman’s fashion fantasy to her reality.

Founded in Gothenburg, Sneaky Steve’s footwear comes from the hearts, souls and dirty hands of people with passion; truly authentic and well-crafted in the best leather in a world of mass-produced disposables. Each design is inspired by its founding city’s industrial heritage, rainy winters, and thriving underground cultures, where the music scene is always alive and where legions of fashion designers have started on their journey.

Cordwainer’s graduate Luna Amani has been designing women’s accessories for more than 20 years. Luna designs her collections reflecting on her childhood of memories in Iran and the 21st-century sensibilities of a designer committed to giving something back.
