  • South India's cotton yarn market strengthened ahead of summer, supported by firm domestic demand despite uncertainty over exports due to tariff-related concerns. Cotton yarn prices rose by ₹*–* per kg in Mumbai and Tiruppur as mills passed on higher cotton costs. In the Mumbai market, cotton yarn prices rose further by &#****;** per kg as raw cotton became costlier, while demand prospects improved ahead of the summer season. Although spinning mills attempted sharper hikes of &#****;** per kg, the market could not fully absorb the increase. A Mumbai-based trader told Fibre*Fashion, “Domestic demand is expected to drive the cotton yarn market ahead of summer, with fabric demand also showing early signs of revival from the garment sector as production planning for the upcoming season begins.”

In Mumbai, ** carded yarn of warp and weft varieties were traded at &#****;*,***-*,*** (~$**.**-**.**) and &#****;*,***-*,*** per * kg (~$**.**-**.**) (excluding GST), respectively. Other prices include ** combed warp at &#****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg, ** carded weft at &#****;*,***-*,*** (~$**.**-**.**) per *.* kg, **/** carded warp at &#****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg, **/** carded warp at &#****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg and **/** combed warp at &#****;***-*** (~$*.**-*.**) per kg, according to trade sources.
