A newly setup Bangladesh denim production facility, Square Denim Ltd will focus on manufacturing value added fabrics for premium denim products, rather than producing low value denim fabrics. With the vision to become one of the world's finest denim fabric mills, this focus, the company believes will help them add value, while also helping to sustain.

“Rather than produce massive volumes of ordinary denim fabrics, we plan to focus on manufacturing high quality products which will not only add value to the industry, but also help sustain it,” Tapan Chowdhury, managing director of Square Denim said while addressing the media.

“Bangladesh is also now concentrating on producing value added products in the same way as China, which has shifted focus from volume to value added goods,” Chowdhury added.

Square Denim produces 1.2 million yards of denim fabric a month, with volume expected to rise to 2.5 million yards after the completion of the ongoing expansion. (AR)
