Insights

  • Scarf Media's Halal Creative Forum and Muslimah Creative Day 2024 in Jakarta gathered over 150 participants, including Indonesia's Minister of Tourism, to elevate the halal economy.
  • Highlights included sessions on scaling brands, certification investments, and sustainable practices, emphasising OEKO-TEX standards.
  • These events empowered SMEs and creatives in Indonesia's halal industry.

The Halal Creative Forum by Scarf Media attracted approximately 100 participants, including creativepreneurs, government officials, and consumers. The event was also graced by the presence of Indonesia’s Minister of Tourism, Dr. H. Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno, B.B.A., M.B.A. Meanwhile, the Muslimah Creative Day saw around 50 attendees, representing a vibrant mix of individuals from various industries.

In the heart of Jakarta's dynamic creative community, Scarf Media—a trailblazer in modest fashion and the Muslim lifestyle—launched an initiative to elevate Indonesia's position in the global halal economy. With a mission to empower Muslim creatives and entrepreneurs, Scarf Media curated an event that brought together talents from multiple sectors. This vision culminated in the Halal Creative Forum 2024.

The Halal Creative Forum, held on September 5, 2024, at Balairung Soesilo Soedarman, served as a precursor to Muslimah Creative Day on September 6, 2024, at Pondok Indah Mall. The forum explored the latest trends in the halal creative industry, with Marc Sidler delivering a session on "Scale Up Brands." The subsequent Muslimah Creative Day featured Pipit Hayati, who presented on "Investment in Certification for the Fashion Industry." These events became vital platforms for discussing Indonesia's evolving halal creative industry, promoting sustainable practices, and introducing OEKO-TEX certification.

Participants included representatives from new companies and small and medium enterprises (SMEs), many of whom were unfamiliar with OEKO-TEX standards and eager to learn more. Discussions centered on sustainable material supply chains and the financial aspects of certification, highlighting the importance of TESTEX's role in fostering awareness and supporting industry growth.
