The members of Textile Machinery Association of Sweden (TMAS) are showcasing new ways of utilising automation and digitalisation at the International Textile Machinery Association (ITMA) 2023 in Milan, according to Therese Premler-Andersson, the secretary general of TMAS.

TMAS has sent nine exhibiting member companies at ITMA. The products on display span from yarn monitoring and feeding systems to machinery for automated production of home textiles, collarette cutters and slitting machines, sustainable dyeing solutions and material handling systems, Premler-Andersson told Fibre2Fashion in an exclusive interview.

Talking about new technologies and innovations being displayed at ITMA this year, Premler-Andersson told F2F that Swedish machinery manufacturers are displaying new way of doing things by using automation and digitalisation. She used the example of digital dyeing, which decreases water and chemical use by over 90 per cent. She mentioned that the trend of reshoring, or bringing back previously off-shored manufacturing jobs, is generating interest.
