Screen Print, a three-day screen printing trade show kicked off on Thursday in Sri Lankan capital city of Colombo. The trade show focuses on areas like screen printing, textile printing, non-woven printing, digital printing, label printing, and sublimation printing. The event is offering a platform to display latest products and innovative technologies.

The first ever international event for screen printing is an opportunity to connect with print processing professionals from across the globe. Nearly 45 exhibitors are participating in the show that has drawn around 2,500 visitors from SAARC and Association of Southeast Asian Nations. The exhibition is being organised exclusively to target industry specific audience, with a strong emphasis to attract key decision makers.

Technical seminars are also a part of Screen Print Sri Lanka 2016, which has been organised by Aditya Expositions, under the leadership of Devang Sheth with the support of Screenprinting and Graphic Association of India.

Screen printing is one of the methods for printing of textiles. This is also a stencil method of print making in which a design is imposed on a screen of silk or other fine mesh, with blank areas coated with an impermeable substance, and ink is forced through the mesh onto the printing surface. It is also known as silkscreen, serigraphy, and serigraph. (RR)
