  • Turkiye's Türk Eximbank provided $25.4 billion in export support in H1 2025, split between $12.5 billion loans and $12.9 billion insurance.
  • It secured $5.2 billion in funds, including $1.1 billion sustainability-linked, and $1 billion syndicated loan.
  • Support rose 14 per cent YoY, aiding 18,552 exporters, 83 per cent SMEs.
  • New interest-free banking products and green/SME financing were also introduced.

Turkiye’s state export agency, Turk Eximbank, extended $25.4 billion in support to exporters during the first half of 2025, its head announced Monday. Of this, $12.5 billion was channelled through loans and $12.9 billion via insurance coverage.

"To provide long-term and cost-effective financing to our exporters, we secured $5.2 billion in funds from international capital markets and financial institutions in the first half of the year, of which $1.1 billion comes from sustainability-themed resources," local news agencies said, quoting Turk Eximbank general manager Ali Guney.

Guney noted that the period was marked by heightened trade uncertainties linked to geopolitical tensions and US tariffs, but also represented a transition phase for Turkiye as inflation eased sharply to 33.5 per cent in July from a peak of 75 per cent in May last year.

"Particularly in the first quarter of the year, with the strong growth in global trade, our goods exports grew by over 4 per cent in the first half of the year compared to the same period last year. Our total exports, including service exports, reached $183 billion in the first half of the year, demonstrating a strong performance," Guney assessed.

Support volumes rose 14 per cent year-on-year, boosted by Turk Eximbank’s record $1 billion syndicated loan secured in euros, US dollars, and Chinese yuan. These funds will expand financing access for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), particularly women-owned firms and those engaged in green exports.

The agency also reported developing new products in interest-free banking. The number of exporters benefiting from its programmes reached 18,552 in the first six months, with SMEs accounting for 83 per cent of them.

"We have introduced murabaha and work financing products suitable for the needs of exporters. We have aligned our existing financing and receivables insurance products with the principles and standards of Interest-Free Banking. In response to requests from our exporters and participation banks, we have implemented the Export Support Financing Program sourced from the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkiye (CBRT) and begun offering it through participation banks," Guney added.
