British textile manufacturer Camira Group, founded in Huddersfield in 1974 as Camborne Fabrics, recently acquired West Yorkshire-based dyer and finisher Holmfirth Dyers, taking its turnover to more than £100 million. The firm, whose name remains unchanged, manufactures woollen spun yarns and woven fabrics in three sites in Huddersfield and one in Lithuania.

Holmfirth Dyers was founded in 1987 by Brian Duckett, who will continue to remain with the business.

Camira has been a customer since Holmfirth Dyers was established and accounts for about 85 per cent of the company's £7 million turnover.

The acquisition will enable the group to extend its textile supply chain into fabric dyeing and specialist finishing, according to British media reports.

The Camira Group was advised by Andy Miller at Sentio Partners, with John Hamer and Oliver Duke of Walker Morris providing legal advice. (DS)
