The United States and Cambodia recently started talks on tariffs with a virtual conference between Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, Commerce Minister Cham Nimul and US Trade Representative (USTR) Jamieson Lee Greer.

This meeting was held in response to the letter of Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet to President Donald Trump in the first week of this month, expressing Cambodia’s good faith to engage in a trade negotiation with the United States.

Both sides discussed ways to enhance bilateral trade and investment cooperation and emphasised their commitment to strengthening trade and investment cooperation, with particular attention given to resolving tariff-related issues, domestic media outlets reported.
